For our patients who are interested in knowing their personal risk of breast cancer, we now have a link to the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool. Please follow the link and directions below. http://www.cancer.gov/bcrisktool Scroll down to risk calculator and answer the questions Click on "CALCULATE" after you have answered the questions. When you schedule your appointment be sure to mention what your risk factor is. If you have a high risk factor, we will schedule you with our "Breast Health Care Coordinator" for a free consultation on a specific day, at our new office, Wallingford Diagnostic Imaging Center and Midstate Woman's Imaging Center, 863 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT 06492 These are the American Cancer Society Recommendations for Early Breast Cancer Detection: * Women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. * Current evidence supporting mammograms is even stronger than in the past. In particular, recent evidence has confirmed that mammograms offer substantial benefits for women in their 40s. Women can feel confident about the benefits associated with regular mammograms for finding cancer early.
